Morning Sickness - Nausea and Vomiting
Nausea and vomiting during early pregnancy is called morning sickness. Most pregnant women but not all experience morning sickness to some degree. It can happen any time of the day and usually eases by week 12-16.
If you experience morning sickness:
- Get out of bed slowly;
- Eat small meals often and avoid having an empty stomach. Keep dry toast or ginger biscuits (ginger has an anti-nausea effect) by your bedside. It may help to eat before you get out of bed in the morning;
- Don't drink fluid when eating;
- Avoid strong aromas and food with offensive odours;
- Discuss this complaint with your doctor.
