Exercise
Being active during your pregnancy is very important: It can help reduce the length of labor, shorten the recovery time, and even help with postpartum weight management.
Before starting any exercise:
- Check with your doctor
- Drink plenty of water
- If you go to exercise classes, make sure your teacher is properly qualified to train the pregnant women.
The recommended exercise for pregnant women are:
- Walking
- Bicycling
- Swimming
If you experience constipation:
- Eat a high fibre diet (wholemeal bread, cereals, jacket potatoes) and drink a lot of fluids;
- Take regular exercise;
- Ask someone to massage your tummy firmly in a circular clockwise direction.
