Back Pain
Back pain is very common during your pregnancy, especially in the later stages.Pregnancy hormones soften and stretch your ligaments and the weight of your growing baby distorts your natural balance and pulls on your back muscles.
If you experience back pain:
- Be careful about your posture: correct posture helps prevent back pain;
- Put a pillow behind your back when you are sitting;
- Take regular exercise
- Sleep on a firm mattress;
- Try massage;
- Avoid wearing heels
- Discuss this complaint with your doctor.
If you experience constipation:
- Eat a high fibre diet (wholemeal bread, cereals, jacket potatoes) and drink a lot of fluids;
- Take regular exercise;
- Ask someone to massage your tummy firmly in a circular clockwise direction.
